Senior UX Designer

Axispoint has an immediate opening for an experienced and multi-disciplined individual to be a part of a dynamic and collaborative team environment.  This is for a cutting edge product being developed by Axispoint and you will be essential in contributing to the successful implementation of the solution. This is a critical role within the company and we’re looking for a talented person to fill it.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Work within a multi-disciplined team to define product concepts and solutions;

  • Create elegant solutions to complex workflows and data with creativity and efficiency;

  • Present a variety of UI concepts in response to a problem, and be able to communicate your ideas and explain why a design meets the needs and requirements;

  • Align your designs to business and functional requirements;

  • Elicit usability requirements from clients and be a champion for the end-user;

  • Document specifications, defining functionality, navigation and interaction models through the use of wireframes, site maps and annotations;

  • Work closely with product managers and development teams;

  • Adhere to release and sprint schedules defined by project management teams;

  • Lead design from concept to launch;

  • Provide input, guidance and recommendations on information architecture;

  • Review functionality and visual look & feel of implemented screens against design comps and functional specs;

  • Provide knowledge of user interface best practices and standards.

What You’ll Need

  • 5+ years experience creating wireframes, site maps, user flows, especially in enterprise software applications

  • Experience designing for complex data entry and data presentation – include a sample mockup in your application!

  • Experience working with large-scale transactional web apps

  • Ability to quickly learn new product domains

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, innovative and high-productivity environment

  • A strong eye, attention to detail, and creative problem-solving abilities

  • The ability to see and define the big picture, as well as to document detailed screen mockups and designs

  • Be comfortable with a software design tool of choice, but be equally comfortable with a whiteboard and marker

  • Excellent communication, both written and spoken English, with both technical and not-so-technical people

  • Exceptional teamwork skills and demonstrated ability to work without explicit requirements and direction

  • Ability to openly receive direction and process constructive criticism is required

  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously and manage your time effectively

  • An understanding of the fundamentals of HTML and CSS

We’d Also Like, But Is Not Essential

  • Experience in the music industry

  • Visual, graphic design or mobile app design experience

  • Experience creating designs using common UI frameworks such as React and Material UI

  • Experience creating interactive prototypes

  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum software development methodology
